I don't see any way to remove Messenger from my computer
in the add/remove programs section because it's not listed but
It to me is a daily nuisance, I adjust the settings so it will not
come on at startup and it does anyway.

I have Messenger blocked so it cannot access the internet I even
have messenger disabled yet it is still :pissed: bothering me, so
someone please! tell me how to kill Messenger. :rl:

ROE, to make it easier for you to remove Windows Messenger, download MessengerDisable. Be sure to read on the site before you download it. It won't take but several seconds to remove/disable Windows Messenger from your computer. :)

Hope this helps.

If you update your Windows to SP2, then Messenger will show up in Add/Remove Programs.

Thanks guys, now can any of you tell me how to
put Microsoft Office Outlook out of its misery?

i suppose the installation wasnt complete, now u instal that again & once it get installed & listed in add/remove pro then un-instal the same.

It's listed as a windows component, and even if you uncheck the box to remove it, it dosn't alway go away the only way to remove it is by using a command on the command line.

1. Click on the Start button and select Run.
2. Type:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

enjoy!
(I have used this on lots of computers and never any problems, including PCs with SP2 pre-installed.)

Thanks Fj and everyone else for the advice it's been really helpful,
my nerves were becoming very :Ohno: from this problem, had no one
advised me I probably would have :rifle: my computer out of :pissed:.

Farmerjoe - wow, I have forgotten about this... I used this method years ago... Now, I will have to print this out for future use... Thanks! :)
