Why does this surprise you? Christmas will become the Winter Festival and changed to "The C word", "In God We Trust, will soon be abolished, and "Under God" will be reduced to profanity and removed from all pledges and anything that hints of natural pride and respect will be a thing of the past so we don't "offend anyone" by us being disgusting, irnorant Americans....It's the wave of the future...

You are being silly, woman.

High School? Can't they just pick anyone from location to do the national anthem?

Read the link. The issue is not what is in the National Anthem it is the cost of using the rink. There is already a cost issue because of longer periods than there were in the games a few years ago "the league has gone from 15 to 17-minute periods in varsity games without extending ice slots. Plus, far from every game is preceded by the anthem—so it's a weird, relatively ineffectual, backlash-guaranteeing measure to take. Teams, managers and officials have done their best to make adjustments to fit games into slots, Pittsburgh Central Catholic coach Bill Connelly told Sporting News, and concerns over both cost and availability are legitimate"

Okay, they just need to rise 50¢ on ticket. I don't see the problem. Plus, I would like to see staff (not teacher but supervisor, vice-principle, etc) donate to allow to have national anthem. If not, then that prove, all high staff are frickin greedy.

Yeah, I agree. They would raise tickets .50 cent each. It is not that much for each person, isn't it? I hope that they're not using the cost as an excuse to phase out National Anthem. I would not want to phase out the anthem no matter what the cost is.

Funny coming from you Fox - this is the world we live in and it's obvious unless you choose to ignore things so you can be right all the time no matter what. One of the reasons why this country is so divided is because we have to deal with people who want to be politically correct 24/7 and they make a choice to drown out anyone that disagrees with them. Remember, it's always "Happy Holidays" and never "Merry Christmas..." We don't want to offend anyone...except Christians that is.....we're always free targets. The National Anthem will soon be a thing of the past...like "God Bless America." Soon no one will remember our country as it was and may never be again.

What's silly and you are really phobic about something that isn't a big deal.

I shopped in plenty of stores and they used Merry Christmas. It is up to store owners to say Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday.

That's not big deal at all and no one getting offend for celebration.

If I was running a business, I would probably tell customers "Happy Holidays" just to be safe. I would say "Merry Christmas" if they tell me "Merry Christmas" to me.

That's sad...you live in this country and you can't tell the difference in our way of life only twenty years ago. What's really unfortunate is you don't care. BTW, I haven't insulted you or belittled you by calling you "a silly man" but it's obvious you have no respect for me, and you don't seem to respect anyone that disagrees with you. You like to have the last word and always be right, truth be damned.

We're not the great people that we were and we're losing our identity every day..and no one sees. Thomas Jefferson was right, we do need a revolution every twenty years, and we're long over due...call me any name you choose...it changes nothing.

I'm apologize for call you a silly, however I feel that you are being overreacted about using words for celebration. I don't understand about between your attitude and the word that use for celebration.

You are free to celebrate Merry Christmas whatever you want, so no one could stop you from doing that. Your celebration is protected by First Amendment and I doubt that your boss at federal workplace would scold you for using a wrong word.

When I started elementary school in 1993 and they used Happy Holiday, so not much mention about Merry Christmas, except for some teachers used Merry Christmas as decoration in their class, so there were Christmas parties. I don't find someone call Merry Christmas as offensive language, even my BFF is atheist and he doesn't care if I say Merry Christmas, so it is no big deal because it is just word to make them happy.

I wil be 25 years old in next month and I didn't understand why you said that I don't remember about 20 years ago - in fact, I did and went thorough in 1992-1993.

Laura , I agree with you. This country is going downhill. Be ready for more events to come. We can't ignore what's happening today .

There is question for you.

Do USA has official religion? If so, which religion is official in US?

In 1776, we, the people declared an independence. Since that time, people have had different opinions about anything for centuries and yet America is STILL strong.

God bless America!
