A brand new online community has launched called MyCancerPlace. Like MySpace, members can create their own pages and share information and photos. Like a support group, members can network with other cancer patients, but because it is online, the contributor base will be worldwide, with all races, cultures and age groups.

Members can listen to teleconferences and read the latest tips about cancer and research in the forums. We know through studies that support groups boost patient recovery and remission. MyCancerSpace can extend such benefits to patients who prefer the anonymity, privacy, and ease of online communities over the more time-consuming physical attendance at local cancer support groups.
