So, this morning when I was in piano class. I found out that the school is trying to cut the music programs. Apparently they have been wanting to for a while. They want to, I guess turn the school into for just standard state requirements. What does that even mean? I mean, what about all the music students here. Where are they going to go? They can't just cut the program. My teacher worked so hard for so many years to bring the music programs here. To not only C.O.S, but some of the elementary schools here too. I don't think it's right. I mean some of the students here that are taking music, want a class they can just relax, and enjoy. I really really hope they don't cut it. What's your input?

Schools across the board are under a lot of budgeting pressure as well as performance pressure.

They are cutting gym classes, too. Supposedly, the reason is to focus more time on meeting the academic criteria.

I don't think it is right to cut these programs. What's next? Art class? Maybe fewer history classes?

If they have to keep cutting programs, something is wrong with their teaching model.

I know right. I love art, and history. If they cut those, school will be boring. :/ I know a lot of people won't want to come to school, if they can't take a class they love. We already had a bunch of classes cut from the school, and a lot of teachers moved because their classes got cancelled do to little show ups or not enough pay. How are people suppose to graduate when the teachers keep leaving. Budgeting is really bad lately. Yet they were able to buy a new gym building, and just not use the one we already have anymore, and afford a new track field and remodel the second half of the sequoia building for the new high schoolers coming here.

If you really like music and art, just take those classes elsewhere.

Neither is quantum theory. :giggle:

I would prefer to discuss quantum theory. I once read a book of fiction by Michael Crichton on time travel , and feel I have the expertise to really participate! :P

From the top of my head:

There was a man from Malay
who did things in a relative way.
He took off one night
at the speed of light
and returned on the previous day.
