For about 6 months now, in the night, I've been suddenly awoken fast by what I think is falling pans which for me sounds loud.
Happens like 2 or 3 times a night but nothing actually falls and my dog stays asleep which just proves nothing actually made a noise!
I'm totally deaf without my has so totally confused as to why my brain is playing tricks with me?!

lol, I'm not going mad but its totally bugging me :( Anyone had this before?

Nothing that loud, but enough to wake me up. My alarm going off, when I didn't set it, or two tones quickly.

Have you been hearing something during the day consistently and lately (with your HAs) that is unusually loud or sudden (similar to the falling pans you mentioned)? Tinnitus is your brain's way of compensating for sounds it no longer hears, so your brain could very easily be playing tricks on you during the night for whatever you were hearing during the day. This is why so many have musical tinnitus, like me.

I get fire alarms in the day but I've had that for about 5 years so well used to it.

I do, do the cooking at home so I touch/play around with the pans but they've never fallen.

I'm just hoping it isn't pernement.

Hm ... sorry I can't think of other ideas for you. You don't have an ear infection that you know of, right?

How long to you remember the sound after you wake up? If you don't always remember it, it's mostly like part of a dream.

Did anything happen involving pans? Maybe a pan falling or a conversation about them?

Maybe you or your dog is farting really loud in your sleep. Or your is barking in his sleep,my dog talk a lot in his sleep, in fact he was talking in his sleep tonight when he fell asleep on me.

sometimes I hear a dog barking when my hearing aid is off, but my dog is asleep or doing chewing but definitely not barking. Very rare do I experience the dog barking tinnitus, but it does happen.
