Hey you guys.. I am really trying to make this web series accessible to all people so I made captions for a youtube video for the first time ever and I was wondering if you could give me input on how to make them better in the future. I tried to put in the sounds based on what this website said was the correct format but I just wanted more feedback. The link to the vid is below. Thanks!!!

The "kissy noises" caption is a bit far out there at 0:24 and the font is a bit hard to read (I have 20/20 vision and find it a bit hard to follow). Why not simply put [kissing noises] as it sounds?

how can i make a website for free

how can i make a website for free? i want make a website for my business. although i have a website for text free

Why I can't see the captions? By the way I am on ipad, i dont know if that's the reason.
Click on CC button and select English-default track which means it's captioned by a video maker. No matter what computer/smartphone you use. Got it?

Actually I did check it out on my PC. Behold CC button and caption did appears. So for some reason, it isn't available on my ipad.

Really? The CC button is available on your PC but not on your ipad. Weird!

I just looked it up at YouTube forum regarding CC on ipad/iphone posted one year ago.

I think my deaf friend at work has a new ipad so I will ask him to bring it to work so I can test it. Also my daughter has an iPhone so I will check it out later today.

Update

I just checked my daughter's iphone to view the video with CC. It worked. The CC button appeared in horizontal position only.

I will check my friend's ipad later this week if he still has it.

Let me know if it shows up on your friend's iPad. I checked under my iPad setting to make sure Closed Caption is on for Video and it is set to "On".

He brought it to work two days ago but the problem was that it's still unable to connect to internet so I couldn't test it. He will have to take it to the Apple store to find out why, even though he has Verizon high-speed wireless service.

Why don't you check another category, "Computers, Electronics, IT & Gaming" to see if anyone has the same problem? If not, you can start a new thread. It's up to you. Another way to find an answer is to go to an iPad forum.

Nevertheless, I asked my son about it. He said that if my daughter's iPhone does show CC on YouTube, then iPad should do the same since both are made by the same company.

I'm exceptionally late to the party, but am very passionate about this issue, and would love to throw in my two cents. LalaLand, you made this post months ago. How have you been doing since then? Are you still captioning? Here's what I noticed about your video:
Positives: Your grammar looks great and you typed up everything very well. You did a great job of showing different sound effects.

Where to work on: Timing. Sometimes the timing of the captions were a little bit off. Line breaks. This means splitting up the dialogue. For example, if I hear a sentence, and a sound effect comes afterward, I would make a line break instead of putting everything into the same line.

Hope that feedback helps. But it's been a long time and if you've been keeping up with it, I'm sure you've greatly improved :).
