MSD softball crowned champs - The Frederick News-Post Online
Maryland School for the Deaf's softball team was selected as the 2010 national champion by the National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association for the second time in three years.
The Orioles finished 14-5-1 this season and, in April, won the national deaf tournament in Texas.
Head coach Mathis Hediger was picked as the Coach of the Year and junior Claire Tucker was selected as the Player of the Year by the NDIAA after batting .500 and driving in 21 runs this season.
This marked MSD's sixth national championship of the year, following titles won by the football, volleyball, girls and boys basketball and wrestling teams.
