I was wondering, since I am working on a website developing for the local deaf resource center so I want to know what is the most reasonable monthly fee for pay for my work on the website to design and maintain.. the resource center will host the new website that I have developed and did show them the basic work and would add more new info for sure to make the new website more better and well-maintained for the clients (members) to check out and more... all I need is what is a good fee amount so any advice or feedback would be appreciative as well.. thanks...

no way to tell. every programmer has a price he feels is entitled to. you just look at the work needed to be done, how many hours it will take, and how much of your technical expertise is needed.

You can either chose to do hourly rate or fixed rate for the whole project. it's entirely up to you and your client.

yeah that what i agree with jiro it really up to you. other option is google up for programmer feedbacks from other sites to compare the prices of their works against your work and maybe u can figure out the amount that is worth of your time work on their project.

Well I want to be fair to the resource center so maybe I will start out with a small amount that I can discuss with them and come to an agreement with them on the starting pay rate.. then as time goes along I would hopefully be paid more but it will be a good start at least...

Just wanted to see what was the basic pay rate and compare them and then decide on a price to request.. that's all.. no dirty tricks or games.. just be honest with that with the resource center...

Sharky, you mean well, man but don't fall into a trap....once you decide on a rate, it will be expected in the future, too. So if you are really good at what you do, set a competitive rate. See what others are charging.......

that won't work. if you want to get paid more, then set the price higher but you have to make sure you are skillful for that price range.

Well I got some good news.. did meet with resource center members plus a new board member came aboard to meet with me.. I did show him my website work and he was impressed and was open to working with me more on the site to improve that website to be better and smooth for the clients to check out.. plus my original pay rate request they told me it was too low and they said they will give me an increased pay rate amount!! That shocked the hell out of me.. but good shock!!! I think this is a good start to everything but I gotta be patient and learn more.. still smiling from ear to ear now lol.. thought I would share this with ya all..
