We have a happy ending to the story of a frantic search for a disabled dog that strayed away from a park in Buffalo. News 4's Jodi Hovenden has the joyful reunion for a mixed-breed bulldog named Parker.

We may never know where he's been, but this pooch, named Parker, is home.

The one-and-a-half-year-old pit bull-English bulldog mix, who is deaf, was reunited with his owner after he went missing for three days.

Robin Smith, Parker's owner, said, "I can't believe we have him back this soon, but yeah, I'm thrilled."

News 4 brought you Robin's plea for Parker's return Wednesday night.

He had slipped away from her on Monday while playing at a Buffalo park.

Two sisters found Parker and called Robin that afternoon, but before she could call them back, someone else grabbed him.

Shannon McCarthy, who initially found Parker, said, "We called the number on the tag, and then we left a voice mail, and then a car drove up, and a girl got out, and said 'Oh, thanks, our dog', and grabbed the dog. And immediately, we all just had a bad feeling."

Robin was concerned that whoever took Parker was going to use him for fighting or worse, but after the story aired Wednesday night, Robin received a call, and Thursday, she picked up Parker at a home on the city's east side.

The residents told Robin that Parker showed up there Wednesday night.

She's not sure if whoever took him let him go or had a change of heart.

Pet adoption counselor Anne Bingenheimer-Serravalle said, "I think they may have been motivated by that so many people, the community, the media, everybody was out looking for Parker. They wanted Parker home, and home he is."

Bingenheimer-Serravalle said, "This dog's whole life is truly a miracle."

Parker has had it pretty rough.

He was abandoned as a puppy, and spent four months at the Buffalo animal shelter before he was adopted by Robin in the first place, but now he's back home, receiving lots of love.

Robin said, "We're happy to have him back. My other dog will be happy, too, because she needs her wrestling buddy back."

Indeed a very happy ending! One must wonder if there was some sort of lingering smell at home that allowed the dog to find its way back home! Heh...but it's sure must be a great relief to everyone! ;)
