Remember the MG Roadsters way back in the 60s and 70s?

Anyways since the Chinese now owns MG and Rover, and I find this strange that MG is making a comeback by being built in a new Chinese-owned factory in Oklahoma.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AFX) - The MG, which gained a reputation in the 1960s as a good-handling, affordable English sports car, will take on a new life under a Chinese company that wants to resurrect the automotive brand in hopes of appealing to a new generation of car buyers.

Nanjing Automobile Corp., China's oldest carmaker, announced Wednesday plans to locate a manufacturing facility and parts distribution center for the car at the Ardmore Airpark in south-central Oklahoma. This would be the first Chinese automotive plant in the United States.

Its a surprise to see the Chinese quickly set up a car factory right in America. It took what 20 years for both the Japanese and the Koreans to import their cars before putting up factories in America. GM just closed the Trailblazer EXT factory in Oklahoma City then the Chinese come to Oklahoma to set up a car factory..weird aint it eh?

ew

I hate the chinese cars with a fiery passion

ugly
unsafe
and a total ripoff of other brands

Its getting cheaper and faster to manufacture in USA than overseas. It used to be cheaper to build overseas, and this bargain is fading away right now. Thanks Bush for making harder and waste company time when it comes to custom service on these imported goods. After 9/11 there have been more stricter with custom service and they don't give damn if companies have deadline to deliver! yay!

You know the Sentry, the company that makes the safes. This company did move out to China, and now they are moving back here in Rochester, NY... Know why? They are having problem getting deliveries being on time, and the quality of workmanship in china is so bad, and Sentry got more customers complaints ever... so this is positive move.
