Numb to Carnage, Mexicans Find Diversions, and Life Goes On

Couples were walking hand in hand. Children were frolicking. Just down the road in this northern Mexican town, 49 bodies, headless with their hands and feet severed, had been found, then cleared away.

Francisco Umberta, alarmed by the latest in a string of unimaginably gory crimes linked to Mexico’s drug war, dealt with it by heading out on a date. A half-hour drive from where the torsos were discovered, he stood in line on Monday near a crowded Chili’s restaurant, waiting to buy movie tickets for “The Avengers.”

I really want to visit Mexico but I'm nervous about it. That's only left I would go to Cancun. Can't drug war leave tourist alone when Mexico need to make money from tourist industry? Unless that idiot probably look for weed and end up in trouble.

The Mexican election is coming up in July. Mexican candidates haven't said much about the drug war, so the cartels and mythical Santa Muerta/ Catholic worshipers still run politics. Ay!

You can go to Cancun. Just stay close to town, and you will be fine. My cousin is in Merida, Yucatan for a few years. My mother in law's sister just came home from Cancun.
