I wonder if it bother you if customers meet at the latest time. Not last minute, but the latest time.

Let's say that I would like to meet you at your house to buy a bike. You tell me that I can come anytime between 9 am and 10 am. Well, I show up at 9:55.

What would you do if you were the seller? Would you wish that the person would meet earlier such as maybe 9:15 or 9:25 instead of 9:55?

It depends on how long the transaction will take. If the customer KNEW it was going to take only 1 or 2 minutes to get the bike, pay for it and go home no big ideal.

However, I would hate it if the seller has no intention of respecting the hours and shows up and hangs around with no intention of leaving by 10am.

I try to be careful of this with restaurants too if I see one that's closing in 20 minutes I don't even bother going in because that's a pain in the a$$ to the staff.

If I were the seller, I'd request that the person arrive at least 15-20 minutes early so he/she can check the bike and re-negotiate the price, if necessary. If that person arrived late, and I had other places to be, I would say, "You should have arrived earlier. I have other errands to take care of, and you are gonna have to wait." and then try to set up a new time, and remind the person to be EARLY. If happen again, no more chances. I don't like late people.

You should handle the same way a store would handle it. You should tell people 8 - 930 if you plan to stop working at 10, the half hour left is to close up shop.

You could say I close my shop at 10 AM on the dot .

If you don't want someone to show up any time between 9 and 10am, don't tell them that they can show up any time between 9 and 10am!
