:wave:beautiful! do you hunt or do any field work with the GSP?
how old?
:)

Beautiful what kind of breed are they? how old and did you get them when they are adults??

German Short Haired Pointer and Border Collie/ Labrador? They are beautiful. And very sleek, they look wonderful.

Beautiful dogs! That funny how one dog head is all brown and it body is another colors. It looks like it has a tan! They'll keep you very busy!!

Ur dogs sure differ in contrast to my "little" doggie (a Pomeranian)...but I adore all dogs, and luckily, they seem to like me too.

Ur dogs seem to "fit" ur personality, Grummer, and no doubt, love ya very much....I can imagine their tails going "thump, thump" on the floor whenever ur nearby!...Give 'em a cookie from rockin'robin.

thanks folks, they are still puppies, i got them young at 3 and the gsp at 4 mths old. Coco is a huntaway/Border Collie straight cross (not mutt - her mum is a Huge pure breed Huntaway her dad is a huge pure breed Border Collie , they were working farm dogs - so consequencely Coco is quite hyper but very eager to please and submissive (just as well!), Jetta is now 6 months old (Coco just been spayed 3 weeks ago- bloody expensive to do but nessecary) Jetta is not spay yet - too young and difficult for vet at this stage. I plan to take her out duck hunting next year, soon will be getting a fake duck toy (duck smell oil droplets) and hide around the house, same time ive been training her not to chase my siameses , the cats are fine, they stand their grounds good.

Yes i get busy with FOUR animals, especially the breed types I have all under 1 roof lol, but i love it, for tomorrow may never come. Live today fully, im gonna be poor for quite some time, but to me, animals are my love they make me happy and i get happy helping them to be happy, they love me back more. I talk to them lots and take them for walks (they run!) every 2 days (too wet and cold atm, and I work at the local Op shop helping out, And study Death and dying as post grad, SO those animals help smooth out everything else to kind of bring life 'back to normal'. Its great.
Jetta is very mellow and sweet, she's a soft dog, Coco is a 'hard' dog with high drive (also behaves like a Blue Heeler at the parks but when settled or around the house she behaves like a giant Border collie with all the typical nudges for attention, Jetta just wants to sleep next to me all the time and wants to shake hands whereas Coco wants me to throw tennis ball in the house for retrival (winter time here)...

They are great dogs, well behaved (mostly) they just dogs you cant just boss them around to 'behave' like a obeident freaks they have to be natural too, but as long I can see stop, bed, sit, enough, outside, no (chasing cats) then its all GOOD...

They share a crate INSIDE the house so no theft and they are kept warm just as my cats are kept warm on my bed at nights.

Both are Very smart dogs, and in totally different ways and they are best of freinds, with no issues of growling (coco might grr for food as Jetta eats Alot, she backs off , no problems)

Cheers

They are still puppies. Both toilet trained just now (for Jetta is younger), and both jumps in car, enjoy the ride, enjoy romping at the river and always stays with me (off leash). Excellent dogs! Jetta is protective of me too and Coco get busy looking for huge tree branches and carry in her mouth as a big show off LOL

LOL I forget how to raise a dog. I will have to do all over again with a puppy. we plan to adopt a puppy real soon more likely in august since my hub is not done fixing the fence.

how do the kitties get along with dogs?

Gerties doesnt like them, she growls, Smoochy rolls on his tummy plays with Jetta, doesnt like Coco though, Coco has strong drive, which is weird Jetta is a HUNTING dog, but she not that keen, just too sweet (could change when older) So, I still says no when she get too interested in the cats, to keep on tabs with her developement to be on the caution side. THat is if she walks following them too much and that they get uncomfortable butlike Smoochy is moody (siameses are moody cats!)...so still have to be aware thats all. I have the time as Im home often for busy people working, shouldnt do /get what i have as you need to train them (and yourself to know them) throughoutly.

takes till puppies are 6 months old to fully toilet train, so be paitent! and lots of repetitions and give love not scolls (i do scol but not all the time dont break them!, esp with the GSP, they are sensitive dogs, weimaraners are the same)

they stole mums shoe LOL i WARNED her the last time she visit haw haw hee hee...
now she left it behind (for gardening help that i now keep the muddy shoe (was good going out to town pairs) in the laundry LOL

i keep my socks any from the cats! Gertie is a theft big time

LOL socks gertie? lol That is so cute!! My old dog used to take off every stuffed animals, most of them were snoopy's noses. :mad2: I loved my old dog. My other dog used to chew my shoes too. My currently cats don't steal stuffs from me. whew!

i got a photo of all three (before i got Jetta) will find it, and will try take a photo of all four and post it up. Dont expect it soon, all have to be worn out and in the same room...difficult to capture but it DOES happens. and its amazing when all the love are shared in the house...seen coco licks them softly but thats rare cuz Coco just have too much energy...(remember she's a full on farm girl). Jetta was the best pick of the litter, I was very Very lucky for that. and just as well, if she was a Normal GSP with high drive the cats would be in big trouble...
im gonna back to bed to read its too COLD here in the lounge and heater bills getting too high...brrrrrrrrrrr
