Well, not so secret. It's no secret that eating on a mediterranan diet can promote your health and prolong your lifespan.

What really ticks me off though is the comments are bunch of whiny people complainign about the danger of nuts because it can kill some people who are allergic to nuts and some complain about alcohol moderation saying it may promote alcoholism.

First of all, let's get the facts straightened.

Nuts are extremely rich in nutrients and contain fats that are proven to promote better health. They are also highly concentrated sources of nutrients such as zinc, manganese, magnesium, and selenium. It is much more difficult to obtain much of them in other dietary sources. They are NOT saying that people who are allergic to nuts should eat them! If you have allergies to nuts then avoid them but it's SO unethical to say that nuts should be downplayed when clear evidence suggest nuts may promote your health.

Second, alcohol is one of the BEST foods to reduce your risk of heart disease, even more than exercise itself! There are hundreds of studies confirming the benefits of alcohol moderation. People who drink moderately simply live much longer than those who don't drink or drink heavily. There's NO WAY you can beat that factor. Alcohol works better than aspirin. If you don't have alcoholism and you want to improve your health, take up moderate drinking! Remember, it would be irresponsible for me to tell you that if you don't drink, you'll live longer because studies show no evidence of that. They have consistently find that abstainers and heavy drinkers are at risk of premature deaths than moderate drinkers. If you cannot drink moderately, then no drinking is better than heavy drinking.
