LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents have charged a 29-year-old Lake City man with two counts of capital sexual battery of a child. Investigators said he transmitted images of himself performing sex acts on a 6-year-old girl over the Internet.
FDLE agents began to track Michael Duane McMillian, 29, after he discussed his molestation of a child in an online forum. Working with the FBI and the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, agents traced the online activity to McMillan's home on Susan Drive.
After a search of his home on Friday, the FDLE said McMillian confessed to the sexual activity.
He was arrested and booked him into the Columbia County Jail, where he was ordered held without bond.
If convicted, McMillian could be sentenced to life in prison.
According to the arrest report, McMillian performed sex acts on the victim twice this month while in front of a Webcam.
"On both occasions the defendant had his computer 'webcam' initiated and was 'chatting' or 'webcamming' with an individual who wished to see the child nude," the report says.
The victim told police that McMillian had done those types of things to her 55 times.
The FDLE said McMillian's online activity included soliciting friendships with other individuals involved in the same type of activity.
Authorities said a full forensic review of the items seized from the home will be conducted and additional charges may be filed.
