MAC users suck....

Here's more proof to my point. Nathan Kester is one of the few deafies I know of at a successful top organization.. We've exchanged emails a few times.

Guess where he works.... I still have yet to hear someone who is deaf/HOH working at Apple's mid or upper level, who is not in retail.

Good question but I don't think I've seen a company that provides this kind level of extensive support for deaf people in its products.

Its CC, high volume, accessibility feature, and facetime are top notch compared to other products. Rumor was said that Steve Jobs (or somebody important in Apple) was hard-of-hearing so high volume and clarity were heavily emphasized.

Come on now, ya'all just trolling android now.
You gotta at least own one before being a big player, or fanboy, whichever.

Did you see Honeycomb? Asus Transformer runs honeycomb, gets 16 hours -with- the keyboard dock that makes it like a mini netbook/laptop. Apple hasn't came close to that yet with the iPad.

Bought Asus Transformer. Returned it next day. It was clearly piece of shit. Same for iPad. That's why I don't have one. I've played with all Android tablets and they were piece of shit too in every little thing.

Just saying.

Symbian has been doing video chatting from cellphone for a lot longer than either Apple or Google.

that's fine. I'm not interested in who did it first and who looks prettier.

Symbian... where is it? dddeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddddd!

why? screwed by Apple's clever marketing ploy? crushed by Microsoft's might? destroyed by dysfunctional management? I don't know and I don't care. I only want a product that makes sense and does the job I want.

If Microsoft redeemed itself with Windows Mobile cellphone and Apple was unable to catch up with its innovation.... fine by me!

But, then why did you mention that FaceTime came out first? If you don't care, then why mention that?

Symbian is only dead in the United States. Symbian is still the #1 mobile OS in the world, by far, though that will change as iOS and Android gain footing in foreign markets and Nokia phases out Symbian for WP7. Symbian was, and remains, a very efficient OS, and it was open source before Android even existed.

Why did Symbian lose out in the US? Probably had more to do with marketing and business than anything related to the OS itself.

This is me right now. Not going to participate, just popping in to make my presence known.

because it was about Google and Apple.... not who invented video-conferencing thru cellphone first.

oh well. not my problem. If it ain't in the market, it's useless to me and it's of no concern to me. I'm a customer, not a fanboy or technophile fanatic. I need a product that works - plain and simple. I don't buy product that would elevates my social status.

oh my god when did you gain all these weight?

My position has always been, use the whatever the hell you want.

I look for value and longevity in my purchases. I think the Apple MacBookPro fits the bill well. It's not the only one. Like I had said, if you pay the same price point for other laptops, you'll generally get the same quality. Not always, but generally.

I want to learn the Mac OS in addition to the other stuff I'm learning in my IT classes. So it made a lot of sense for me to buy the MacBookPro.

I'm not married to it though. I really do prefer Linux Mint over Mac OS X.

To each his own.

Well, if you say so that you don't like iPads nor android tablets, seems like you don't like slates at all.

They are still fairly new and lots of people don't like the idea of not being able to type efficiently, it was a good thing the transformer added the "laptop" to it.

In the end, slates are pretty productive parts of tech, IMO, it's going to be the next thing in the coming whatever years, 30 years, when that slate technology is implemented into walls and kitchen appliances, so on. It's already used at restaurants, movie production, so on. Cellphones can only expand until it has a limit: It's supposed to fit in your pocket.

I didn't like it because it's crap. It's clumsy and stupid. "TRY AGAIN!". I don't want a toy. I want a real product that actually works. I did buy iPad2 and returned it next day too. iPad is just an oversized version of my iPhone plus some extra features. I wasn't impressed.

Last week, I had a meeting and my colleague checked her watch and fiddled with it. I always pay a particular attention to people's wristwatch because I'm a watch aficionado and I like to wear a cool, functional watch.

I see that she's wearing Apple nano watch. I thought it was very cool and very "Dick Tracy" but it didn't impress me enough to buy one for myself. Why? cuz it's clumsy and stupid. If I shit money, I wouldn't buy it for myself anyway. I wouldn't even buy Asus Transformer as a gift to any of my friends either.

that's fine. I'm up for whatever as long as it works beautifully and intuitively. I don't want my cellphone to act like a computer. I want my cellphone to act like a smartphone and I have a computer at home so they should keep it separate. That's why Windows Mobile failed again and again. They tried to put a PC in cellphone. I don't understand why they keep trying again and again with this failed idea. stupid. No wonder Bill Gates resigned as CEO. He's a failure in 21st century. He was a hero in 20th century and he revolutionized the world with Windows but unfortunately... looks like he lost his mojo. He's incapable of imagination.

btw - in 30 years... it will be paper-thin OLED slate or similar. My crystal ball foresees..... movie posters at theaters will be in video rather than picture. How cool is that?

“The only problem with Microsoft is they just have no taste. They have absolutely no taste. And I don’t mean that in a small way, I mean that in a big way, in the sense that they don’t think of original ideas, and they don’t bring much culture into their products.” -Steve Jobs

That's not that far away. I can see that type of thing in the next 10 years.

In 30 years, I predict holographic projection of display and interactive module from a device smaller than a cellphone. They've already started it . . .

It already exists but problem is... its screen size is limited due to technological limit and the cost is astronomically expensive. So for mass production level like video-based (paper-thin or so) movie posters at theaters? I would say more than 10 years and 20 years sounds realistic but I'd like to be wrong on that part :)

yea that would be cool.

this most likely exists in DARPA lab and probably in bunch of R&D labs too. I mean... when a corporation has billions of dollars in its big fat piggy bank... they're certainly not lazying around and swimming in money pool like Scrooge McDuck. It sucks that corporations are holding it out until their products dry out of profit. Capitalism sucks sometimes.

In 30 years the chip will be in our head and all we will have to do is think and a website will appear in our eyes but nobody else will see it. Count on it.
