Both Apple and Microsoft have released evolutionary—not revolutionary—new operating systems, but which OS is right for you? Let this in-depth comparison be your guide.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard vs. Windows 7

I have updated Windows 7 Professional in my Dell Desktop. Windows 7 was ok condition. It s different from Windows XP Pro. I loved graphics in Mac. What is your opinion between Apple and Microsoft?

Windows 7 is much improve when come with file fragment so got 0.1% of file fragment after heavily downloaded, according on Defragment apps and Vista got alot of file fragment like 30%.

That article is worthless, it's garbage-totally one sided. MAC Snow Lep doesn't even support Blue Ray-it's not junk but it certainly isn't better than the MAC OS. MAC OS doesn't even support directx so in the gaming field-that sucks. I'd rather go linux anyday than MAC.

It's blu-ray, not blue-ray. Blu-ray is useless for laptop. You can't tell between blu-ray and dvd on under 32" of screen.

Linux do not have Directx too. OpenGL is better than Directx that's why Linux and OSX use OpenGL.

OSX still better than Linux for friendly apps and long battery life. Do you know how many PC laptop's battery only last for 2-3 year for cycles and 3-4 hours use. Then you have to buy a new battery for $150-$300 to replace the each 2-3 years.

Macbook's battery cycle is 5 years and 6-7 hours use. I am very happy with my Macbook for business travel without carry a power supply.

I have 14" HP notebook with 9-cell battery but too heavy. I really like lightweight 13" MacBook or MacBook Pro and long battery life. I don't care about blu-ray drive. I can't wait to get new P3 software for Mac. After that, I will buy MacBook.

Agreed, Blu-ray is pointless for PC monitors too so need 50" HDTV to make a huge difference.

I read the article about the Windows 7 is more secured than OSX Snow Leopard. I don't get it!! My wife have Apple Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard installed. It seem secured and had no issue with it. I think it's just tiny issue with it since that user don't go into bad website often.

Now I have 3 different OSes in my home, Windows XP, Ubuntu, and OSX. hee hee. I told my wife that I would like to purchase new Laptop, of course have Windows 7.

I agree that Gaming Field sucks. I've installed and ran VMware or Virtual Box for Linux and installed game. It runs but sluggish but other game don't work at all because of debugging error. I know it'll take some hack to get it working.

If boot camp installed in Mac, should install Windows 7 Ultimate full version. But this software is too costly.

Steve Jobs says blu-ray is a bag of hurts... I agree and it is not ready for prime time! I do not care for blu-ray either

Because nowaday you can download HD movies or tv shows!

HD tv shows or movies from iTunes is piece of shit, not true HD to me.

It need have alot of bandwidth for video to be capable of true 1080p.

I am not limiting to iTunes it can be from many sources.

Why bother use blu-ray to write own disc if you can afford cheap huge 1 TB external HDD? it worth to storage than buy several disc when you're not storage everything in max once it write and never use again?

you mean, you want MAC's software only?

Okay, I don't bother to use iTunes or Amazon for video because of DRM so I just downloaded from torrent instead.
