I'd like to know if there's any low vision/deaf stores around Tallahassee? Please note, however, that even though "drive around Tallahassee" is an answer, it's a waste of gas and unfortunatly, I can't drive due to my visual impairement and I found it hard to accept it. The reason I ask is I'm planning to go to Disnwy World this thursday and didn't seem to have time for any online stores like MaxiAids to sell a product that I need.

I have a "twist-able" cane, like for lowering/raising the cane's height, and I lost my tip for my cane: it came loose when I was in a crowded bus from ACE (next to Lincoln High School) as there are lots of students and because it's very crowded, I wasn't able to sit in a seat! Well I could tell a bus driver that I lost my tip for my cane but I didn't have time because I had to catch the bus to get back home. But if I did talk to a bus driver, it'd be too late as I have to wait about an hour for a next bus.

So anyway, while I could've ordered a tip for my cane last week, I'm wondering if there's any low vision stores in Tallahassee. Does anybody live in or near Tallahassee?

Here's what the tips look like for canes:

I don't think it'd make any sense to order a product that's so small...I'd rather order a small product from a low vision store... Oh, and one thing, since I've no tip for my cane, my cane is useless.

Seems like Flordia have lousy service for deafblind- I don't mean to bash the state, but that what I noticed. Minnesota does have low vision store which is in St. Paul.

I wonder how do Deafblind service do in Flordia? If it is city bus, try to call city bus company to see if they have it at lost and found?

Well, my tip that I lost, is old, so I have to buy a new one. They may have searched through the bus and throw them away, but it's all right. I can just buy a new tip for my cane, but if buying a tip online, it can take days to ship to my apartment that my family are living in.

Well, why don't you try a medical supply store or the pharmacy? I dunno if they have it, but if they do, you could get it right away instead of waiting several days for it to be shipped to your home.

Yes, good point......this is a specialized cane. Maybe contact Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, and see if they can give you any leads?
