I love this letter because this is SOOO true (my gay neighbors have the prettiest house on the block and they were together for 6 years while my other neighbors cause so much drama - drunk teenager crashing into front yard next to my place, alcoholic father with 6 kids, two messy divorces, etc):
Let’s review George Bush’s statement: "Ages of experience have taught us that the commitment of a husband and a wife to love and to serve one another promotes the welfare of children and the stability of society,"
I live in an upper middle class neighborhood. This should be a test for his statements.. Let’s see what we have:
1.) Five straight couples have divorced and it was not pretty.
2.) Four of the children of these so called loving heterosexual married couples were arrested for vandalizing a number of cars in our neighborhood.
3.) My next door neighbors daughter, who became gothic over night, was arrested for being the neighborhood drug runner.
4.) Neighbors 3 doors down - their daughter is in rehab for alcohol and drug abuse - she is 15 years old.
5.) Six doors down, husband is arrested for abusing wife.
6.) Across the street - a homosexual couple who have been together for 15 years. Their adopted son is on the honor roll, will be attending college next year on a scholarship for his academic performance. He is not allowed to associate with the vandals of the neighborhood. He is polite and can actually carry on an intelligent conversation with the adults in the neighborhood and actually enjoys it. The other kids in the neighborhood are too busy blowing out their ears with a sub woofer listening to rap and calling their girlfriends bitches than to have a decent, intelligent conversation with you. The Homosexual couple know where their son is at all times. They attend church on a regular basis. They have taught him that bad language is not acceptable. He is taught to respect people. They also keep their house and yard in pristine condition unlike my next door neighbor that I have to call the city on at least 5 times a year for not mowing his freaking yard and keeping a piece of junk “Classic” car in the street - that he is going to make “Cherry”. That was 3 years ago.
Attention: Looking for 20 homosexual couples to move into my neighborhood. I will welcome you with open arms. That would be peace and harmony!!!!!!
