Thank you for the link! I spent more time than I'd care to have in London and from what is shown in those films, not *that much* has changed. There's a lot more traffic and the shot early on across the Tower is missing a lot of buildings in the background but otherwise things are largely the same.
At the time, the Metropolitan Police considered it dangerous for the upper deck of a bus to have a roof, hence them all being open air! The first motorbus in London was in 1902, if you're curious.
