The Parkview School PAC will hold a very special assembly on Thursday, March 9, when the Parkview students and their teachers will have the pleasure of enjoying an extraordinary performance by the much-heralded "Little Theatre of the Deaf" in the Parkview gymnasium. The Little Theatre of the Deaf is the children's theater wing of the Tony-Award winning National Theatre of the Deaf. In its unique theatrical style, an LTD performance unfolds in two languages: American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English. The audience will see and hear every word.

The Little Theatre of the Deaf combines Sign Language and spoken words to create a unique visual language which one critic described as "poetry for the eye and ear." National Theatre of the Deaf uses the Little Theatre of the Deaf not just as a performance, but also as an outreach and educational partner with the sponsoring schools.

The program this year is "Fingers Around the World, South of the Border" in which the main character travels to Mexico to be treated to a fiesta full of history and culture.

Parkview School will be welcoming this program as a highlight to "Disability Awareness Week," as well as to increase multicultural exposure.

There will be two performances: 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Easton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Roche Bros. Market is also a supporter of this program.
