Lions Club raising money for students' winter camp - KIVITV.COM | Boise. News, Breaking News, Weather and Sports-
The Lions Club in the Wood River Valley in central Idaho is hoping to raise enough money to continue a winter camp for students from the Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Lions Club member Walt Cochran says state funding cuts mean the school can't afford to pay teachers for their costs and time to attend.
He says the club has covered the cost for the students, and now is working to raise about $2,300 to pay for teachers.
Cochran says about $1,900 has been raised so far and the club is committed to raising the rest by the March 5-7 camp.
He also says the club plans to start a rotating fund to help cover costs in future years.
