Lions backing the Deaf Camp | Coffs Coast Clubs | Bars, Pubs, Sports Clubs in Coffs Coast | Coffs Coast Advocate

LIONS of Woolgoolga assisted two hearing impaired children to attend this year's North Coast Deaf Camp at Yarrahappini at Scotts Head.

Each year teachers of the deaf along the North Coast organise a camp for 60 students who are deaf or hearing impaired hence the name Deaf Camp.

The camp usually runs for four days and caters for students from ages nine to 18 years and helps to develop skills in social interaction, growth in areas of responsibility, self confidence, co-operation and the opportunity to renew friendships.

These types of projects fall directly in line with Lions Hearing Dogs Incorporated and Lions Save Sight program which Woolgoolga assisted by donating a cheque for $540-00.
