Life is too short to judge others

Why is it that people like to read news item in the newspapers, and then post them for everyone to see. Then you see a list of posters who does nothing but give their own highly biased opinions about the situation, with no mentions of how the situation could have been remediated or what could be done to prevent more of these things from happening. Like I mentioned in my another blog, people love to be voyageurs and snoop into the lives of others. They NEVER talk about the positive things of other people, but LOVE to talk about the negative things and misdoings of others. It seems to me rather pathetic that the world would rather to be so self-involved in the rumourmongering concering the misfortunes of other people, who are not even remotely existent in their lives.

One might be inclined to state that it is our responsibility to ensure that moral values be upheld, and all that, and how it takes a village to raise an idiot, erm, a child. It is my opinion that the laws are already set there, and we should leave it to the law enforcement agencies and justice departments to do their own responsibilities to enforce these values.

For example, a woman and her son was recently jailed because they were involved in having sex with each other, and having children. Sadly, these things happen, but does it grant us, as "spectactors of misdoings," the right to jeer and judge against them? Justice has arrested them, sentenced them and they are doing their time now. Why do we even care about what happens in other people's live, to a point where we have to voice our own opinions and judgments about them?

Or rather, I suggest that we take these cues of the misdoings and tragedies on the news as lessons for us to learn from, to appreciate the roles that we have in our lives and the roles that we play in this society as whole. Not only does a society depend on everyone to follow its moral codes and values, but it definitely starts with an individual. If the individual does his part to make sure that nothing bad happens from their own actions, if a collection of individuals come together and contribute positively towards the society and work with each other in a co-operative fashion, if compassion can be developed and acheived amongst them, then we can live in a society free of judgments and jeerings.

Unfortunately, we do not live in such a society. Our society revels in rating the misfortunes of others as a way to make ourselves feel "superior" over others. Compassion is lost here, and desire and greed occurs here. We keep up our own airs and try to look good so that we wont be judged, yet we love to judge others. And to what end? We are so busy resisting to accept the life as it is, that we die judging people.

Well, how do you deal with mass media when they violate other people's personal affairs before it publishes ? Once it publishes, it tends to start gossipin' and judgin' others. It does influences greatly.

Kootchie, well said and you just hit the point home with me.

You see I admitted that I wished I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I honestly believe even the most innocent child is quick to judge and we, adults, are at fault because children learn what they see. Kootchie's thread reminded me of a literary story I read when I was in my last year of high school. It was about judging and how a whole town would punish a person by stoning a woman for her misdeeds. Normally in English class, we read the book and watch the movie, the last scene was shocking because it was the little boy that threw the first stone to "punish" his mother.

Back on topic, my apologies, whether people feel the need to snoop in other people's bloggers and become gossipmongers, I just sum it up to their personal issues that they have to deal with. It is their own issues, not the bloggers' issues. It is quite sad that some people have so much self-hatred that they feel the need to projectile it to other people to feel much better which further excaburates the situation, better yet, drags them into a quicksand situation.

When people see "self-haters", they do wash their hands off from those "self-haters" and distance themselves from those "self-haters". A word of advice from a good friend that I took to heart and I wish to share with gossipmongers, go out to a local cafe and have a great coffee!

Life is too short to be trivialising such silly details!

Why on Earth do you care what the media presents to you? The choice is entirely yours whether to view things in a positive light or to fall in with the rest of the group and judge others.

I would care because I don't want this SH*T to happen to me. The worst thing is that when your really innocent and you were caught and charged for crimes that you didn't committed and the world automatically assume that your guilty, no matter what, even if you were found not guilty of such crimes in the grand jury court, world would continue to believe your just plain guilty. This is NOT fair.

Perfect example: Michael Jackson, OJ. Simpson, etc. World still believe they are guilty of the crimes.

The best way is to understand VERY OBVIOUSLY and see CLEARLY. This key is a negative public:

The LIE changed the modern world!!!!

People tend to get caught up in whatever drama du jour is out there. It provides a certain respite from the boring humdrum of everyday life. Is it right? Hmm, probably not. Do we do it? Sure! I've even done it. Take the Schiavo story, for instance. Practically the entire nation was glued to their sets during the last week of her life. Most of us, regardless of whatever political side we were on, had an opinion about her. As she lay dying, most of the nation was on a death watch. Then, she died and the cameras faded away. For the most part, she became yesterday's news.

Sounds pretty sick, doesn't it? It IS sick! But, it's also the way we are. We are facinated by problems and issues that aren't our own. Some of us actually care. Most of us, though, do not.

Unfortunately, we like a good drama so long as it's not our own, and I am not sure that it's going to change all that drastically any time soon.

kuifje75,

You're brought up really good points, But, Let me give you an example here, I'm guilty of judging Michael Schiavo for an example how he found new love within 5 years, while his wife Terri laying in a nursing home not even giving her proper therapy. She is not brain dead nor is she terminally ill. She is brain damaged and remains in what appears to be in vegetative state. Then Terri became National famous known as live or die (remove Terri Schiavo's feeding tube). Everyone got so involved with her life, The court, the American people, her family and her husband. Even through most American people don't even know this woman in real-life but, her story woke a lot of people up, making living wills, instead of having others decide for you, weather you should live or die. Terri didn't have that say what she really wants only one person's voice which her husband. The point is when people read news, like myself I felt the pains that a silence woman who cannot speak what fate she wants when everyone else controls her fate, she was in the middle of a biter court batter and in the middle of some American people who are angry at the fact that we are allowing to kill an innocent person. So, What I am saying is how can I view this in a positive light, when we allowing people control a human's life, when we all know it's wrong. Nobody got arrested, Nobody stopped the feeding tube removable. It's over and done. It makes the society so evil.
