Do you know that type a email or write a letter to certain companies sometimes does make a difference in some certain cases? Well, I want to share a short but possibly boring story with you.
I am a 3D modeler (no, I am not modeling for photographs... some people always thought that I am when I mentioned that term). 3D modeler means a person who makes the 3D or Computer-Generated (CG) images/animations. I can give you a good example... did any of you ever watch the movie, Shrek? If so, that's what I mean about '3D' or 'CG'. Anyway, I was looking for some decent commerical tutorials to aid me to build my 3D modeling skills and I checked this site: Desktop Images. They offered many great commerical tutorials for my 3D application, Lightwave. I have felt disappointment that they didn't offer the subtitles for deaf people like me... I had this dilemma whether if I should write the letter to them about subtitles or not for a while then made a decision and wrote the letter to them.
In a week later, they responded and offered their apologizes then promised me that they will add the subtitles for deaf people in next version. I must admit that I had the doubts about their assurances but I shurgged it off and completely forgot about it until I got their letter... I was hurriedly checking their site and found this: Desktop Images - Lightwave. Allow me to quote their statement under the tutorial products:
Write a letter or type a email does make a difference in many cases like Desktop Images. Keep that in your mind.. if you find something that does not provide the needs for you or deaf people, write a letter or type a email and send!

I know.. I know that may be politically incorrect term to some of you but I was sooo exciting and so damn happy that they did what I asked for. Subtitles! Subtitles!
