Hi,
I am a student at the University of Dayton persuing a degree in special education. I am anxious to meet someone who can help me learn and navigate issues, trends, and just give me insight to the deaf community. Is there anyone out there willing to chat with me?

In the past few weeks, there have been other AD members like u who are majoring in special ed or intervention and asking us questions on how to better serve Deaf/hoh students. Umm..why not go thru the threads in the CI/HA, Deaf Education, and OUr World/Culture categories..u can find a lot of good and useful info there.

I'm not sure what a PM is. My best guess is it means your private email? I don't know where that is located but maybe I can present my questions to you here?

Currently, my classmates and I are trying to understand the controversy around cochlear implants. We are trying to understand why some people in the deaf community support implants and others are strongly opposed. Can you help me understand this most heated debate?
