La. elects first Indian-American governor in U.S. history
1st Indian-American governor in U.S. vows 'fresh start' for La - Louisiana Elections & Politics - NOLA.com

The 36-year-old Jindal becomes the nation's youngest governor and the first chief executive of any state who is of Indian-American descent. When he officially takes over from Gov. Kathleen Blanco in January he will be the second-youngest person to serve in that office after Huey P. Long, who was 35 when voters first elected him in 1928.

By the way, the Republicans have done it again! They didn't get all the votes but (surprise, surprise!) they won the office!

15,358 20% Walter J. Boasso, D
27,370 36% John Georges, N
26,278 35% "Bobby" Jindal, R

That's wonderful news for Native Americans!

^^ That's not a Native American and that's from a country called India. If it says "Indian-American" it means India....if it says Native American it means those real indians who live here.

Native American = the folks who were here since before the "white man" (and "black man," of course) set foot in North & South America.

Indian-American = a politician who got upset that a woman defeated him in an election & who, instead, ran for the senate. Won senate then ran for governor again. Never had a job in his life (always "elected official") and blamed the woman for all problems related to Hurricane Katrina.

Sorry . . . I'm just upset that, as someone born and raised in the United States (i.e., Native American) is considered not native.
