Miller Lite Dodge driver Kurt Busch took time out during his schedule last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway to attend the "Race Night Fever" fundraiser for the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind and it was a huge hit all the way around.

"We grossed over $200,000 and it was the most successful event in our 21 years of doing this," AIDB's Cary Nolen said on Tuesday. "Having a top-level driver like Kurt Busch attend our function was the highlight of the evening and we're so thankful for his time and generosity. You could tell that he was the favorite driver there with all the kids. He made many new fans at Talladega last Friday night."

"To tell you the truth, I never even knew that the AIDB fundraiser existed until earlier this year," Kurt said. "The team I used to drive for never was interested in doing things like this. They asked me if I'd attend and I said, 'Heck, yes.especially if it'll help those kids out.' We donated a hood off one of our Miller Lite Dodge Chargers for them to auction off and we went over there and had a great time meeting all the kids and signing autographs. I'm glad that it was such a huge success."
