Hi, I'm HOH and just opened a carpentry business. Most of my business communications are conducted by e-mail, ameriphone VCO (only keeping it home since it's a pain in the butt to carry around) and word of mouth. However, being on the field all the time neccesiates buying a cell phone in the near future so I can have more communications with clients and suppliers. So I just recently ordered the Krown PVCO-C as the first step of portable communications. How well does it work with cell phones and regular phones? What cell phone would you guys recommend? I'd really appreciate your input.

At first I thought it was portable TTY that connects to Cell phone. Oh yea, saw VCO device that my friend have. He said he loves it, but now I don't see him using it anymore. Not sure why. But for portable TTY that hooks up with cell is piece of JUNK! I done check it out on my own hand, ran into problems with it, and the connection cable between the cell phone and the TTY is UNBELIEVEABLE thin! Too thin for normal use. They proved to be breakable easily! Realiable? Nah!

Hear that Nokis' mobile line are finest with VCO.

What do you suggest, then?

If the portable tty is junk to you, then what would you suggest to be the better alternative? Basically, I need is a speak and read device for cell phones. I'm trying to think of the least invasive way to normal people lives as well as it be the least cumbersome for me. Can't win everything, but doing the best I can. For normal hearing people, sometimes communicating with the deaf and HOH can be a pain in the butt. I lose much time with the e-mail and sometimes it takes a day or two for poeple to respond. At least I'd like to call suppliers (for my business) and get the ordering done at the spur of the moment. I'm not finding any reviews about this product over the internet and I guess I'm taking a risk here by ordering the Krown PVCO-C with out knowing the reputation. I have the Ameriphone VCO and I'm OK with it. But it doesn't fit in my pocket to well. LOL So at least I figure the Krown having portabilty option will be OK. So if you have any suggestions other than the Krown PVCO-C (product or methods), please tell me. Thanks

I've not used any portable VCO device myself, but I've known others who use it with some success. Just as long as you're careful not to break it, it should be okay. You'll have to connect to a relay service to use it. Which company do you use? Or do you just dial 7-1-1? If so, which state do you live in?

Depending on what you want. But for me, I found a trick that is much easier for hearie idiots (Excuse me, I don't mean all hearies are idiots, just that those who have no damn clue what relay service is all about). That I set up voice mail (Though relay service of course). Then give them my voice mail phone number. Let them call and leave message, I will retrieve the message and call them back though relay so that they get damn idea what is relay service is all about. I can check my voice mail though Sidekick II using relay service on it. Works nicely!

Often hearie idiots would say why need two phone numbers??? They would assume that second phone number to be alternative or evening phone number. First they would call relay, and got confused, then hang up and try that second phone number themselve without using relay. This has caused problems AND add the confusion to the already confused idiots.

The only thing I could not give any advice if you are hard of hearing and can use phone.

You will like PVCO-C.

Use TTY and/or relay service on sidekick is fucking slow for communication.

Sure, your right that TTY relay on SK is FUCKIN Slow! Point is, I can't talk on phone, what other choice do I have whenever I am on road? If I am at home, I'd flip on TV, and use man's best friend, known as remote control and I make call!

OK, The PVOC-C came in yesterday. Haven't tried it yet but the instructions are bad. Fortunately, I think I got enough common sense to understand what the instructions are. It seems that the instructions are written for those very familar with the VCO relay service. So anybody who doesn't know is going to to have a difficult time setting it up. Will let you know how well it works.

agreement.

that's why I found new instruction update
