News::Judge Allows South Dakota Deaf Slaying Police Tape In Trial

The judge handling the case of a deaf woman charged with killing and dismembering another Sioux Falls deaf woman will allow a key piece of evidence into the trial.

Lawyers for 43-year-old Daphne Wright had tried to suppress a videotaped police interview with Wright.

But Circuit Judge Bradley Zell says police did not violate her rights.

The judge says Wright's answers through an interpreter were logical, she did not seem to be overwhelmed and the interview ended when she said she wanted to get a lawyer.

Wright has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and murder for the February slaying of 42-year-old Darlene VanderGiesen.

Her dismembered remains were found in the Sioux Falls landfill and in a Minnesota ditch.

Wright told police she suspected VanderGiesen was trying to break up her relationship with Wright's girlfriend.

still not good exucse to kill someone for suspecting to break them up?? jeez.. still stupid! sigh
