Last Episode Of Crime-Busting Series Aired Over Weekend

One of America's longest-running TV institutions, "America's Most Wanted," aired its final episode over the weekend.

Host John Walsh thanked viewers for watching and helping catch almost 1,200 fugitives over its two-decade run.

“You’ve saved lives and gotten people justice," he said in brief farewell remarks.

Fox has cited high production costs for pulling the plug on the series, which premiered in 1988.

Walsh, 65, vows he'll return to television.

He launched his crime-busting crusade in the aftermath of the abduction and murder of his 6-year-old son Adam in 1981.

I watched the show last Saturday as usual. Fox complained AMW not getting enough viewers. I really liked the show.

John Walsh is bad-ass who really hate pedophiles. Im same way. I hope we catch that pedophile karate cop who befriended the girl and her mother. Totally wrong!

Was one of my favorite shows...sorry to see it go....I thought it really did make a difference. And many criminals were caught by the viewers watching this show....Plus, many people were made "aware" of child molesters, murderers, etc., living by them, without their knowledge.
 
I loved AMW,was one of my favorite shows.

What I found annoying about it though was that,unlike other crime shows,the CCs ran at the bottom,not the top. That blocked out important information.

I did complain to Fox about the captioning being at the bottom. They didn't do s*** about it.

Walsh indicated there might be 2 specials later this year.

AMW is back!

According to the Lifetime TV site,the new season started 12/2/2011. The show airs every Friday at 9PM EST.

No one is going to replace John Walsh?? He aged so much . I have great respect for him, I know I would not be able to keep myself together if I lost my child .
 
Fox sucks. They are completely shallow with the shows they aired and then cancel them due to production costs or rates of viewers, etc...
 
Watched AMW last Friday night on Lifetime, 9pm EST....so glad it's back!
