Jobs Act

Yeah....

And then there is the "tax cut" in the employers contribution of payroll taxes. Those are the taxes that fund SS and Medicare. That's hardly a tax cut....it's really just borrowing from SS. Not sure that is such a great idea with all of the boomers hitting retirement age. Raising the capital gains tax in a shaky market seems like a pretty bad idea too. I guess we will see but for a plan that took weeks to develope this doesn't appear well thought out

Undertaxed Melody
By Warren Buffett

Oooo. Baaama
My darling
I've hungered to be taxed
Just so you could spend
And I am so very weathy
and I could do so much
will they comply?
I want to pay
I want to pay
please take my pay from me

unemployment grows, pass the bill
pass the bill
don't even care what's in the bill
unemployment woes impose your will
impose your will
you don't have the votes impose your will

Why not bring back the WPC programs and the Corps of Engineers programs in which the government starts construction projects to put people back to work? They built roads, dams, bridges, buildings, etc.

This would be one possible solution. Our infrastructure gets needed maintenance and improvements, people get put back to work, and when people have money in their pockets, they spend it. The government would also get some of the investment back in the form of payroll taxes and annual taxes by workers.

As for the estimated millions of illegal immigrants already here in the United States - if they are working - make them legalized and start taking taxes out of their payroll. Employers should encourage them to seek full US citizenship within 5 five years. Employers can be sponsors of those who seek citizenship.

Another solution - offer incentives for major companies to bring jobs back to America from Asia. Maybe in the form of a reduction in taxes either in payroll or in profits.

Also, schools need to push just as much for students to seek vocational opportunities just as much as college educations. Oddly in the time of high unemployment, there is a shortage in the vocational fields. This could be balanced out by encouraging students to at least look into earning a vocational certificate in a field that interests them.

Just my two cents for what it's worth.

Or, how about we threaten them with high tariffs and taxes to get their asses back to the country that made their wealth possible in the first place.

Halliburton should be charged with treason as far as I'm concerned. Moving their headquarters to UAE, or wherever they went, just to avoid taxes. Damn war profiteers.
