SOUTH Wales Plaid AM Jocelyn Davies has criticised ITV Wales’ decision to scrap “signed” news from its flagship 6pm news service from tomorrow.
The signing for deaf viewers has been in place since February 1986.
Ms Davies said: “This decision means that deaf British Sign Language users in Wales will no longer have access to local news.
“It is understood that ITV approached Ofcom for permission to pull signed news.”
ITV Wales said: “We are discontinuing the signed 20 second headlines every weekday.”
