The Italian Co-operation is carrying out two financing programmes, which in two years will support sectors such as food security, agriculture, institutional support, return of refugees,demining and awareness campaigns on land mines dangers in Angola.
According to a statement from the Italian embassy in Angola that ANGOP has had access to, one of the projects is estimated at 5.5 million euros and the second at 4.3 million euros.
The programme, which will be implemented by some United Nations Agencies such as FAO, UNICRI, UNDESA, UNHCR,UNICEF and UNESCO, will include areas such as juvenile justice, air transport and education of deaf children.
Bengo Province has benefited of a financing for the food security sector amounted at 500.000 euros, which will be handed over in May 2006, while Luanda has received two programmes (1.5 million euros until March 2006) and institutional support (2.4 million euro until june 2007).
Other programmes are of national ambit and will be supported in the following way: return of refugees (150.000 euros), air transport (USD 200.000), demining (USD 605.000) Education (USD 500.000) and education of deaf children (USD 500.000).
