For a person who rides his bike at least 20 miles daily, works in a metal fabrication shop, generally a physical worker.

3600 calories, 150g fat, 2900 sodium, 430 carbs, 65 fiber, 225g sugar, and 130g protein a day?

The meal is probably 90-95% organic. The person who has this meal plan is actually losing weight.

Probably, and because of 20+ miles on bike, he would burn alot calories and this is one way to burn the weight.

Loosing weight does not always equal what is healthy. In my view everything looks a bit high to me. Especially the salt. The other question is how many of the calories are from fat? In general you don't want any more than 40 to 50 percent of your calories coming from fat.

Considering there are other cultures with high-protein, high-fat diet and are long-lived...

Only thing I am worried about is the insane amount of sodium. :|

The daily recommended amount is 2400mg -- we've discussed that and it will be fixed very easily. It's mostly from the nuts - we'll get salt-less nuts.

ha ha ha i feel like posting it here for being a postwhore.

everyone is different according to the healthy diet.

Good link and I would only add that it is for athletes. 1500 - 2000 cals a day for non athletes. Riding a bike 20 miles a day would not constitute an athlete imho.

Well, I was going to insert a rofl smilie here. But then I thought about it. Yeah, true that riding a bike 20 miles a day does not constitute an athlete. But its how I ride those 20 miles. If that's not good enough, I can (I credit this mostly to riding the bike) step outside the door and run 7-9 miles straight, with no issue. I will, now that my body has built up resistance to lactic acid buildup as well as higher recovery, put on more miles.

On top of this riding, I am intentionally adding weight as well as drag to the bike as to force more exertion out of myself and put a sort of limiter on myself. I will be doing some timing sometimes in the next week and see how I'm progressing thus far.

As for the weight loss, it is not intentional nor is it rapid. Yes, not always healthy, but I honestly think I was overeating in the past and now I am adjusting accordingly. I would say I lose about 1-2 pounds a week, and was intent on losing weight in the future anyway. So as they say, killing two doves with one stone.

On a related note, I have ridden over 400 miles in 5 days span and did not eat enough in that I caused 15 lbs loss as well as lack of energy in just those five days in the past. I'm happy to say that's not the case here at all now that I'm very attentive :D

So I gather that you Mister Potts are the one that PFH is talking about then. I am not an expert and there are details that should be considered before going on any diet / exercise regiment. Your age, height, weight, overall health, etc are some of what should be considered. From my understanding under proper conditions, 1 to 2 lbs loss a week is healthy. 15 lbs in a few days is probably not.

Good luck to you and all I would add is to either get doctors advise or educate yourself on the proper approach given your personal details.

All the best!
