Is posting VP numbers permissible?

My guess would be no; it's probably because of safety concerns, which would be understandable if that were the case.

I don't think I'd do that even if it was allowed. So many 1 post people you don't know what they'd do with it. :ugh:

That may be true, but I'm always looking for new friends to chat with, and new friends to get to know. I have good friends already, but I'm looking for a new challenge somehow.

I'd definitely get to know them in private messages and send them your number after that and in a private message. Anyone can browse these forums including guests, so anyone could get a hold of your number... I wouldn't recommend it.

That's a good point. So if I were to ask how the best way to communicate is, what should I do? VP and text message numbers are considered private, and I rarely give out my text number, anyways, even though that's the best way to reach me. Of course, one could IM me, but I haven't used that in quite some time.

If someone was to post their VP online, then I would think they're not very smart. I may wonder if I wanted to be friends with them.

I'm sure it will hurt a person's cause more than to help their cause if they posted their VP.

I wouldn't ask someone to post their VP online. I don't think anyone would ask me to post my VP online either.

Oh yes, I do have Sorenson VP 200. IF you want to talk to me on VP, you know how to contact me for my number.

There is that. People can IM me and ask me for my VP number if they wanted to-- my AIM chat is always open.

I agree , there a lot people here as guest and we know nothing about them.
I personally don't think people should be allowed to use a forum unless they join it.

That's why I wanted your opinions about the topic, and I've learned there may be people who MIGHT take advantage of a posted VP number.

I think Derek has an excellent point. If someone posted their VP number, phone number, email address or anything like I'd think they were
a)very desperate and very weird
b)very dumb or mental
c)a scammer

All reasons to not engage and stay away, far far away

I would think they were pretty innocent and not aware of the danger they could put themselves into.

Maaaaan you put that so much nicer than me

*goes to check the calendar to see how close to "that time" of the month it is*

Thank you, Bottesini. Yes, I am harmless, but I'm looking for friends I could chat with almost anytime, and that's why I wanted opinions on the matter, and no, I'm not desperate-- just looking for something new.

How long have you been using the internet?

21 years. I don't trust Facebook or most social media sites, because of certian things I'd heard of. I prefer something that doesn't need constant checking, like here, for example. I can post, take care of business, and check back later. This here is suitable for me.

Which is exactly why I wanted your opinions. It's much appreciated, and I won't be doing that anytime soon, unless someone IM's me.
