So people warned me about traveling in mexico. If youre gonna visit mexico you better off going with a tourist group. Has anyone visit mexico and had little or some trouble while visiting there?

Watch for Federales with one eye and the kind and quality of the tacos your'e about to eat with a cork in one hand at the ready! LOL, it really all depends on where, when, and how ya go vis a vis your itinerary.

Many places in Mexico are safer then the United States. I live in Arizona
and people here travel there all the time. I have never had a problem.

Interesting!

I already asked my co-worker about this because she went Mexico twice. Yes, she said that it's best recommend with tourist group because the guide say so. She do all is follow the guide's recommend because she care about "safety". :dunno:

I travel alot and alway went with tourist groups or friends because I didnt know strange countries. It would be different if I am familiar with strange countries.

My friends went to Mimi, Florida and was told that it's unsafety place and it'll be okay when they follow tourist group :dunno:

We would love to go Mexico one day and would follow guide's recommend and of course America to Blondie Twinnies or any members here, they're also my guide, too. I'm safe with them.

"Safety" is "Safety".

There has been numerous of incidents in Mexico where Mexicans would rob tourists for money or their cars so they could sell to buy drugs or get across the country line.

So if you visit Mexico and elsewhere (such as Miami-Dade County) - it is recommended that you don't act like a tourist there just to blend in with the crowds so that is least likely you would be targeted by the bad people/groups.

Well i was thinking about going to mexico so i can watch a bullfight. Bullfights are illegal in the US.

if i plan to go mexico, i would look at
these areas including "Lake Chapala" and
"Ajijic" Have u ever heard of them or
ever visited these areas before ?

Ive been to Mexico quite often.

Yes, it is dirty and it is not a good idea to drink their water or eat some certain foods.

One time, my ex boyfriend and I drove to a town off Baja California from Arizona. During the 3 hours drive, we were pulled over by 3 different cops, demanding money or they will place us in jail on false reasons. We had to chip over our dough to each cop.

Mexico is dangerous but very exciting. I will love to return to Mexico soon despite all of its dangers. You just have to use common sense and know where to go to and not to go to.

Thanks to Brian for his suggestion
NOT to act like tourists in Mexico....

How do you act like NON-Tourist in Mexico etc ?

It is better to witness a bullfight in Spain than in Mexico. Bullfighting is not as popular or common in Mexico as it is in Spain.

Soccer is more popular in Mexico.

Yes its excellent advice but it is hard to pretend Im not a tourist if I have blonde hair and blue eyes and cannot speak Spanish. They would know right away that I do not fit there.

I was mugged once in Mexico and another time in Rome. Can't always prevent that but just to use common sense.

yeah about water and certain foods.. i feel sorry
for a friend who was so absent-minded using
ice cubes into a glass of soda
and then got very sick without realize
that these ice cubes were from dirty water....

hmm, what kind of certain foods should we avoid there ?

Yes, Mexico have its barrels of dirty cops. A similar incident occured to my friend as well. She went to Mexico to get medications because she couldn't afford them in US so she went down there (from San Diego-- only 20 mintues away from Tijuana the border city of Mexico) with her three kids with her car... and she kept getting pulled over because she got a California license. THis pissed her off because she was broke and she didn't want to pay off those jerks but she had or she would lose her kids and Mexican Jails are the worst to go.
If you want to drive around in Mexico, get Mexican car insurance (they have monthly and yearly that is cheap-- i only know yearly rate is 100buckaroos) because your US insurance is null there and if anything happens to you, the cops can put you in jail for the FELONY OF NOT HAVING CAR INSURANCE.
Their court system is different as well. You have to prove your innocence, not to be proven guilty.

How to not look like a tourist? Put on a mean look and don't carry around a camera or anything bling-bling and stomp along as you walk. ;) this would work in Tijuana because there are a lot of americans acrossing over there not for tourist reasons but family, cheap houses, side jobs, et cetera. I never got bothered every time I went there but whenever I bring a naive foreign relative/friend, they flock to them and try to rip them off. (Perhaps their shocking facial expression gave them away... they were outrageous on the conditions in upper Mexico... had to assure them that it isn't like Tijuana all over in Mexico et cetera.)

raven>> any specific city you are intending to go for this (inhumane) bullfights?

I cant go to spain. I have to fly to spain. And im scared to fly. Plus i dont like our airport security procedures.

How can you possibly "can't" and being forced to go to Spain at the same time?

On a lighter note: People from Europe are warning eachother aganist the concept of visiting America due to the people being unsafe here.

Hello.

I dont support airport secuirty method procedures. It goes against our rights the right of privacy. Now i understand arabs are our enemies but i paid my taxes for the military and use of these weapons. USE THEM! Including this bomb!

Its a NUKE! This bomb is the only thing arabs understand. It taught the japs a lesson to think twice before attacking peral harbor.

Point in History:

The japs bombed the Pearl Harbor December 7th, 1941. If I recall correctly it was near 8am when it happened..

We did not bomb Hiroshima until August 6th, 1945. Note the emphasis on the year of 1945.

Moral of this comment: We bombed Japan after they got us.

Right and bush should have launched 3 nukes after 9-11 attacks. One on IRAN, One on Afgainstan and one on IRAQ. Then these arabs would keep quiet from here and on. Cause they dont wanna see their families killed by the nukes. But bush isnt that kind of a president. I gurantee you if this was JFK or reagan in the white house it would be a far more differant story.
