Is hiring deaf employees good idea?

That is so fabulous!! I wish, my agency would hire more Deaf colleagues to explose to the hearing people. I am only the one Deaf person in this agency since four Deaf people were retired, resigned, terminated and married/moved.

Of course, it's logically and meaningfully.

I wish my employer should hire more deafies like what what an employer in Iceland did for deaf employees.

I'm only deaf at work place and watch my co-workers chatted each other happily. One of my co-workers understand sign language. She translated for me often but... but... I would not like to ask her all the time. I do ask her sometimes when I had feeling something important what they talk about.
 
You are not alone, Liebling.. I am the only person in the office. I have 23 people working in the same department and I am the only deaf/hoh person working in there.

I do talk to them, and some know little sign languages and some do talk about everything, if I mis-catch of what they talking about, I would ask them and repeat again.
 
I can feek that way..... Hearing chatted hours and I dont listern expect LOUD laughing... I am not only one, there is HOH worker work with me. She never attention to them because she pissed all the time at them.

The more tax breaks employers get for hiring the handicapped the easyier for us to get a job. Bush wants to cut SSI and SSDI but he has to offer a back up plan like ether start building prisons for the handicapped or give tax breaks on people who hire the handicapped.

Build prisons for the handicapped????????????

There are already tax breaks for hiring people with disabilities.

By the way, we do not use the word - handicapped anymore.

Yes Why not? Hey if theyre gonna put handicapped kids in special education schools why not build prisons for the handicapped. Listen i was not allowed to attend a real high school because of my handicap. My brother explained it to me.. Since when they allow kids in wheelchairs,, wearing hearing aids in hereford high school? They just dont have the special equpment to take care handicapped kids in a real high school. So therefor i think they should build special prisons for the handicapped.

Well that was one on the things so unfair in my life. I never got to to a high school. I was put in an instution for handicapped kids. All of them was for people with hearing and walking problems. Some of them had no arms,No hands or No legs. Then i was put in MSD to see if i liked it. MSD is for the deaf. I was HOH not deaf and all those people talked in sign lang which i didnt understand. So i rejected it and they put me in another instution for the handicapped. See life is so unfair every which way for me. All i asked is a regalar normal life.Thats why i had to lie on some of my job applications because theres no way theyre gonna hire me comming from handicapped instutions. Thats one of the reasons why i cant get a real realationship hopfuly i can marry a girl and have a family get about 3 kids of my own and society owes me a lot! Thats why i think its only fair i belong with handicapped criminals instead of real criminals if i rob a bank because i was put in handicapped instutions instead in a real high school.

I understand your pain and anger but Raven, it doesnt mean you should punish rest of us. We have tried to help you out. We all go through hardships too. Life is never fair to ANYONE.

You can still marry a girl and have 3 kids. It is never too late. But you need to change your attitude then you will have a long line of women wanting to date you.

i have told you the same thing too back in december but of course you were very arrogant and gave me an attitude.. sheesh!! if you would just loosen up and take things into heart.. things will get better once you have a better outlook at life.. but right now you won't with that attitude you have.. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE... so it is YOUR CALL, DUDE... everyone in here has their own problems for crying out loud.. you ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE!!! SHEESH!!
 
the deaf culture is taking over the entire career sections!

Agree that they should built MORE prisons for people with disabilities !!!

with disabilities but I have no idea how much etc...

Raven, just be yourself don't let anyone else stop you from
express your opinions/thoughts/feelings whatever..

Generally, these deaf employees are good workers !

EDIT: I meant they're very few prisons that are
accessible for people with disabilities (should be more !!)
