Inquest into deaf man's death begins
A coroner's inquest into the death of a deaf and visually impaired man who was struck by a police cruiser begins in Miramichi on Monday.
Christopher (Max) Comeau, 22, was hit by a police car while he was walking home on evening of Aug. 3, 2006.
Fredericton city police conducted an investigation into the incident and concluded the police officer was not at fault. No charges were laid.
The inquest will make the facts surrounding Comeau's death public, said coroner Dianne Kelly.
Six days have been set aside for the inquest.
