I have an Imac that has built in web can. Wonder if I can use it to view to others outside home to communicate? With those who already have web camera?

Well, iChat works with AIM. Both of them have webcam support.

FWIW, I also use AIM and Skype with video. Also, through the end of 2006 for U.S. residents, you can place landline telephone calls for FREE to most locations within the U.S.

Free calls within the US and Canada to all phones.

And just looking at that webpage, it appears that Canada is now included!

This is in preparation for Skype to become another VoIP service provider like Vonage. They are working out any last minute kinks in the system.

While this information really only applies to hearies since it is an audible voice mode of communicating, many family members in our forum might be able to save some $$$s on long distance telephone calls. I hope somebody can benefit from this information.
