I'm going to buy Surface Windows 8 Pro

I received a new Dell XPS 12 and been playing around with it for over a week. I'm glad that I chose XPS 12 over Surface Pro and I will write up the comparision between XPS 12, iPad and Surface Pro later tonight.

I would like to know how you like it and how it handles for you, also got Starcraft games? Can you test it? I am fan of that game myself.

I am thinking about getting one of them laptop\tablet flip ultrabook for my studies at college.

I like it pretty much, there are some bugs but fixable. The reason that I pick XPS 12 is because you can run i7 with 8 GB of ram where Surface Pro only go up to i5 and 4 GB of RAM. Also for Hard drive, XPS 12 go up to 256 GB SSD where Surface Pro only either 64 or 128.

So the one I got is i7, 8 GB of ram and 256 GB SSD, and it's speedy system.

So, will write up more later since lately I have been swamped with lot of things around here and work.

oh I forgot to add: No I don't play game..sorry

SneakerNet, did you get Surface Pro?
I saw the 128GB version is sold out.

No, as previous posting, I got Dell XPS 12 since this have Core i7 plus 256 SSD and come with built in backlit keyboard. For all that with the price little more than the Surface Pro.

Oh dang, that's a strong notebook. Are you going to regret your purchase or upgrade to Haswell when it comes out soon?

So far, it seems like Surface Pro got a lot of really strong reviews. I wouldn't mind to add one to my tech collection, but I don't need one yet... I have a tablet notebook and find that I rarely use the pen unless drawing. Wonder what would be useful on touch vs mouse...

No, I'm not going to regret about Haswell, since it's primarly good for gamer, as stated in PCGamer site:

"Chances are though that it’s not really going to be that much of an improvement, in desktop performance terms, over the current generation of Intel CPUs. What it will have though is far improved graphics capabilities – somewhere in the region of twice as quick as the Ivy Bridge chip’s HD 4000 series graphics.

The new SKUs of Intel graphics will top out at the GT3E, which Intel is betting will be fast enough to form the basis for its own gaming laptops, without the need for discrete graphics. And because of the serious power-draw improvements that Haswell is also bringing to the processor table, that should make for gaming laptops with excellent battery life and decent graphical performance"

Well, as you know that many applications are not ready for Windows 8, I ran into couple of PITA where touch screen function are too small to touch. As one example, some embedded video player, the play/pause button are too small to touch or FF/FR scroll are too small as well. Only YouTube is Windows 8 compatible, it got bigger play/pause and FF/FR button cuz it reconize "touch screen". So if it is too small, I end up using the mouse. I use both mouse and touch. Down the road, it will become mouseless.

I wonder how much battery life is improved for Haswell? :hmm:
Windows 8 improves battery around 5-10% over Windows 7 based on some benchmarks. Wonder if there will ever be intel architecture with battery life longer than 10 hours that is not 9+ cell battery.

I'm same with touch+mouse.. I use Asus Transformer. Sometimes, the screen is too small to touch and mouse is more accurate. Maybe they can make a bluetooth pointer that fits on your finger and follow the point. Better than this one:
