Sorry, I don't get that cartoon. :dunno:

It would appear that you missed the point of the cartoon.

Sorry dear, um, no.

Now, as for immigration laws the list below is what it should look like:

You must be in the country legally.
You have the means to sustain yourselves economically.
You are not destined to be burdens on society.
Be of economic and social benefit to society.
Be of good character and have no criminal records.
And must contributors to the general well-being of the nation.

In terms of enforcement,

Immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor.
Foreign visitors do not violate their visa status.
Foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics.
Foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported.
Foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported.
And those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

Sounds like a good immigration policy, don't you agree, Jillio?

Yes or no?

He not only missed the point, but he overanalyzed it as well.

Sorry, um, no. Analyzed it, yes. But what I see is simplicity in thinking in that cartoon. It may have a "point" but what it also advocates that it is "ok" to enter a country illegally. Is that what you are agreeing with in that cartoon? Seems like it to me. Or so it seems.

I dont see it from that view point.

I dont see it from that view point.

Because you have a limited view?

Now, before I begin do you think that immigration policy I spelled out in the above post is a good policy to have? Yes or no?

Limited? By whose standards?

U asked Jillio, not me.

Apparently someone is taking this cartoon too seriously.

I'm asking you, too.

Coming from someone who married into a family of immigrants from Mexico, I would say that policy is good and my ex-hubby and his family followed all of the protocols you listed.

Now, your turn. By whose standards is my view limited?

kokonut,

My views on immigration have absolutely nothing to do with this cartoon, so please do not try to distort the discussion. :ty:

The indians lived here in america orignally.

Well, in that cartoon I see two things. The apparent "hypocrisy" of telling illegal immigrants to go home (via immigration laws) when Indigenous people were here before the Pilgrims were and the implied point that illegal immigrants shouldn't go back to where they came from. Hence, saying that illegal immigrants do not need to go home. There are two messages in that cartoon. That's pretty apparent.
