I'll be there

*This I wrote my sophmore year to my old best friend*

-I'll be there-

I remember the laugher, the tears, the hugs, the fights, the apologies,
the thank-yous.

I remember playing at the playground, without a care in mind.

I remember staying up all night, telling each other our secrets.

I remember giggling over that cute boy in 1st period english.

I remember shopping for that perfect dress to wear to the dance.

I remember the hug we hugged before we parted forever.

I remember making a vow never to part, to be friends forever.

That was then.

The last time I saw you, you were strung out.

Crying about your life.

You offered me some, I declined.

You cried, said I was pushing you away.

In reality, you pushed me away a long time ago.

We once made a vow we'd be friends forever.

You broke that vow in favor for your new drug.

In spite of that, you're still my best friend.

I'll be there for you when you need me.

We can play on the playground again.

We can stay up all night telling secerts again.

We can giggle about that cute boy in 1st period english again.

We can shop for the perfect dress again.
