Does anyone here have the problems of being slegged about being deaf? Im only out of hospital and i had alot of catching up to do in my A level studies and then yesterday some idiot called me deaflugs (dont ask me what that means) and i decked him now im suspended for 2 friggen weeks :( and nothing happens to him. This isn't fair the way they can get away with calling people names who have a disability and the people who stand up to them get in trouble. And now i just heard that in Uk they are cutting school payment for special needs which means my Teacher (she teaches deaf boys) is gonna be out of the job and im gonna be lost on my studies which means i cant go to medical school which means im snookered :bsflag: :mad: What a shitty ass world we live in.

Sorry that happened to ya CJA but check out this angle. If you don't know what deaflugs means, then why did it offend you enough to deck the guy?
You will be at fault if you strike anyone. The only exception to that is when you feel that you are in danger of being physically harmed. The other person could press assult charges on you and you could be liable for any injuries this person sustained as a result.

Even if the word is offensive, you gotta choose your battles. There are idiots out there in all walks of life. When you get in a situation with those idiots, take the high road. I know that is not always easy. The fact that they have no respect for other humans is their problem, not yours. The suspension is not the end of the world either. Just chalk this up as another learning experience and move on. I wish you all the best!
