any suggestion for him to get a IP relay something on line with no problem???

not him. It's female. I added her in steam group. I helped her how to register i711 but, I told her post it in AD about error message.

Oh. thanks I didn't realize its a female. glad you did help out. I didn't have a luck with 711..

I see why you need text relay, perhaps try vocational rehab or disability rights agency could help you.

I sign and I'm oral, but I never get to use ASL because I'm alone in my area, nobody here signs.

I signed register since 2009. My i711 relay in my AIM still work and active already.

Did you try recently placing a call, say within a month? The problem is that I had that too and yet I still had to go to through re-registration.

during purple took over i711 website, I have no idea. My account still alive there.

Amazing- the "problems of using 711" in the United States.

My experience using 711 here in Canada was simple-dial 711 and have a TTY phone.
I am not registered. I have used the service since January 1995. Still -to this day.
aside: My cochlear Implant does not pick up the "other party's voice" . Thus just continue using 711.

Is the US experience replicated in other countries-around the world?

No, we talk about "i711 relay" website on computer. not dial 711 on TTY.

FYI - if you're using a phone line... then you are already registered.

I already gave up on communication outside email, can't hear on the phone and can't get i711 to work on the tablet, so I can see if my father wants to try getting the phone company to give is a TTY, but the way 'help' has been going for me, this too is doomed to failure like everything else.

In Deaf world, TTY is obsolete to them.

If you are wanting to go the TTY route, in most states the phone company is NOT the source of free equipment but instead a state agency. Being in Illinois I don't know what your state calls theirs. Illinois has ITAC. Try a search engine such as Google and even if you don't contact the right one whoever you do contact can probably point you to the right agency.

It may be obsolete to the Deaf world but some of us that are just deaf or close to it still find it mighty useful.

I am in Illinois (USA) and have been doing the type of connection the Dr. Phil speaks of for about the same amount of time. I use the redial function on my TTY to call 711 and then pick up a regular phone to speak even the number I want to call. I have not encountered the extremely slow CAs that ambrosia referred to. There are sometimes those that are very impatient or don't listen to the explaination of Relay if it is their first time on such a call and hang up, making reference to telemarketing.

It is one way to prove to IP relay provider that this client is indeed Deaf or Hoh and can help fill out form and get this straightened out. Sometimes relay reps don't believe the application and won't process. So VR is one way, or disability rights.

What does it do with VR or disability rights agency? :hmm:

Saavik, we apologize for the trouble you've experienced registering for i711. If you could PM us your contact info, we can pass that on to a senior Customer Care representative who will be able to help you out.
An alternative is to visit Help & Support - Purple Communications and look for the purple button titled "Customer Care Chat Live" like you see below - where you can reach a Customer Care representative via text chat who will be able to help you register.

Please also let the representative know what you experienced so that they can share your feedback with the i711 team.
Again, sorry about the trouble!
