I had took evaluation for one week and got test result too. They recommanded me to take web design for major at college, also recommanded to attend NTID because there's great course for web design.

I used to make decide about went to Gallaudet but I changed my mind because major isses are protest, alot of debate with Jane, food service isn't good and seems conflict with between art and web design. I changed my mind about want go to NTID but not 100% decide yet.

I have ask you to make recommanded me for between web design and culinary, also including how much years of course, average salaries, level of difficult and other thing.

Please help me, discuss and answer poll above. No bashing, please...
 
Well, if I were you... I'll do what I WANT to do. Don't let somebody tell you what to major in. You should be the one who decide to major in. What you do will make an impact on your future.

If you want a career, you just do what you want to by majoring in what you love to do. You'll be happier that way.

Follow ur heart, not let anyone makes u decide whats ur major...
 
You should probably go for both of them if you are interested in them both. Because you never know if you like one better or which one you might make a career in, in the future.
 
what ur heart tell u that what u really wants, and, also or u can think which they re easy to get job out of the world nowaday...

Hi Banjo ! :)

I went to see VR last Sept. 8th after I arrived from Texas on Sept. 6th -- to discussed about my want for college. I told my counselor that I really want a design art ( that's one of my dreams ). She told me that there are sooo many people who wanted to take that kind of class and there won't be hirin' for that kind of job in small towns. She was explainin' to me that only " big " cities like Texas, Minn., and California will hire people to work as design artists. I also told her that I will bring my own profolio to show her my arts that I created through my Photoshop and other programs. The next appt. will be on Oct. 16th.

Any suggestions for me before I see her on Oct. 16th ? Is it possible to set up my own business at home instead of movin' to large cities ? Will VR accept that ? I would appreciate to take your ideas/suggestions. Many thanks ! :hug:

My brother dreamed becoming a chef since he was a kid....so he DID it!! He went school and graudated. He said it is not easy! It is HARD. But he said it is really worth it because it is in his dream to be a Chef! :) He loved it every minutes! He got a job in Oregon and starts end of this month I believe...he'll be working on small ship/or boat on the river (I am not sure if I am correct) and he liked small ship/or boat than a big ship out in the ocean (cuz of hours are long and must stay on ship long time and he miss families). I miss him! I haven't see him for almost 3 years. :( My baby brother!

We are not far from NITD! ;)
 
yeah just follow your heart.. i cant tell u what to do or pick out your life goals .. u have to do it for yourself! no one but yours only.. u can look at that pro and cons.. i hope you can do it.. Good luck! :)
 
Why don't you do research on the demand of web designers or chefs?

I got my BS degree in Information Technology with a concentration of website development.

NTID has a good AAS program called Applied Computer Technology. If you do well in that program, you could get your degree and continue for a BS degree. :thumb:
