I have back problem for 6 months now and I have done few blood work, two MRI's, X-Rays and they still can't find anything wrong. It is very frustrating for me. It could be nerves or something else. I don't know what it is yet. Hopefully they'll find sometime soon and maybe its fixable? Who knows?

My mother have CTS and she had to have a surgery for that. Medicines won't help and the only thing it will help is to take painkillers. I am not sure if that's what volcomskatz have of CTS? It sound like to me but I might be wrong.

I asked doctor about I had CTS then they said no but different tunnel via nerve pinched.

I can't enters MRI anymore due CI because magnet isn't good and can cause bad pain in my head.
 
hope dr can figure out what u have and get it fixed..

with my cts .. i had therapy .. but its still painful.. i have to go back and see the dr but am thinking of getting second opinions.. make sure its same diagnosis with other dr.. compare to then will decide what to do .. sigh..

Cheri has every right to question Volcom on this, because, she's RIGHT!

Doctors don't take you straight to surgery when a pinched nerve is diagnosed. They try medication, rest and therapy first. For MONTHS.

Please don't be so quick to believe everything you see on here. It has been my feeling for weeks now that Volcom has not been telling us the truth on some stuff. Also, he posted earlier today, around 2:40pm.

I'm apologize that I hadn't update yesterday because we called surgical service about confirmed on today but patients don't make cancel for me to take their place and no confirmed until Oct 13, it was on waiting list and real surgery date is Oct 13 but we can still call them if can take their place for patients who make cancel on surgery. I can't wait until take surgery because my nerve is still pinched, even got worse in other time.

None of your business and we chose to take surgery because medication isn't work on me, it had done with 1 weeks for advil to try reduce the swelling and tingling. Now, final optional for me to get surgery, that it.

Who cares about take action but I was outpatient, it means go to home at same day after surgery is done and its minor surgery.

My friend had a pinched nerve, and she didn't need surgery. At the same time, the condition was so painful that she was on more than advil for the pain.

Here's how they usually treat pinched nerves. I'm sure you would be no different. Stop bsing us. It's getting boring.

Btw, incidently, Dr's don't bend to the whims of the patient. You can't just go in there, and say "Hey, Doctor, I want surgery because signing causes pain", and they will do it. It doesn't work that way. Most Dr's won't even consider surgery as first line treatment. It's usually after meds and physical therapy have failed.

Normally, they put the patient on prescription pain killers and muscle relaxers. Drugs like ibruprophen aren't that effective since it's an anti inflammatory, and those have no affect on nerves.

Right. I was in a very bad car accident in 2001 (car was completely destroyed to nothing). I ended up with a very annoying pinched nerve in my right arm (due to me trying to protect myself from being slammed into the inside car door on my right side when the semi truck plowed into us). Did I need surgery? Nope. I was given a painkiller, and after a couple of weeks it went away. My pinched nerve was most likely caused by a very thin fracture in my arm due to impact. Once the bone healed, the pinched nerve went away. So...sorry, Volcumscatz, but I find it very hard to believe.

That's not fucking BS... You don't got it but I got no benefit for splint because nerves was in between arm and elbow, the doctor explained to us about surgery will going to fix the pinched nerves.

I will keep update about one day before surgery when one woman announce to me via phone and find date that where other patients who cancel the surgery then I will take their place. If nothing until Oct 13 then it was my real surgery date.

I added this thread to bookmarks and would update soon.

No more BS or bashing, please.

I think you probably have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. My husband had both hands done and one of my sons, too. The therapist tells me it is rare for a Signing deaf person to have CTS because we use such a wide range of motions. It is people who use consistent motions that it hits. My husband was a building contractor and my son is a butcher for Safeway, so, figures.

Good luck. My husband had his done in the office with only a valium for comfort. No hospital.

I asked my parent about what different kind of tunnel in between arm and elbow then they don't remember but they said that doctor want surgery to fix the nerve pinched, also it called tunnel release.
 
I agree with Lantana. It sounds like you have carpal tunnel syndrome, and I think you might be confused between that and a pinched nerve.

Anyway, I want to apologize to you. I shouldn't have accused you of being untruthful in this, but given what you've said in the past about other things, it was hard to believe what you said about your arm surgery.

Also, surgery isn't usually necessary with a pinched nerve. However, surgery IS usually indicated with carpal tunnel syndrome. They will try splints first, so in that, you were correct.
