How to get over your fear of the dark: As soon as you turn the lights off, start masturbating, no monster wants to see that. Whistle while doing it, stare into a corner and whisper "This is for you."

:laugh2:

LOLOLOL....god wish I could post a video of me laughing. I am terrified of the dark. A 29 year old woman who is just scared ****less of the dark. I tend to blame it on being Deaf although I think it's an excuse. I cannot hear and in the dark I cannot see so it really scares me ha, that rhymes...regardless this was a good one!

Look up REM sleep behavior disorder it's a big reason I fear the dark-its a very rare sleeping disorder, especially at my age.

LOL-that would scare the monsters away....

oh, here's something silly....for those NOT afraid of the dark.
Before bedtime I insist that my husband check all the doors to make sure they are locked and he also must make sure all the closet doors are closed tight. If there is one small crack...I freak.
another requirement: if I request that the light be turned on at 3 am you better turn it on, no questions asked. I typcically will have a nightmare and will be too much of a pussy to poke my head out of the covers to do it myself and just prefer to hide under there until the hubby does it. If he doesn't he gets kicked and slapped and sometimes punched and worse if I'm acting out a dream. So yeah, when I start moving around in bed the light goes ON!

heh, also, I refuse to drive anywhere at night by myself and if I must go somewhere my husband knows the drill. You turn on the porch light for the wimp and walk her to the car.
when she returns you meet her at the car and let her go up the steps first god forbid she see's a shadow anywhere.

it's pathetic, I know. I'll try the trick listed LOL

I have some fears of the dark being 26

I cant look into a mirror in the dark, I know its me but for some reason, mirrors (in the dark) creeps me out. I do not like the doors or windows open when I'm resting even if its a security door.

Glad I'm not alone! I think this would be a good thread topic to start-to see how many of us here are afraid of the dark.
Sure many people are-but I've always thought that my fear was greater because of the fact I was Deaf. You're pretty much helpless in the dark being both Deaf and blind, the fear is heightened for sure not being able to hear what is around you.

god, I'm spooking myself already! LOL :)

Mirrors are creepy in general...
especially if you have no makeup on. :laugh2:

I'm not comfortable in the dark.
Like LadySolitary I hate looking in a mirror when it's dark or low lighting.

In bedrooms I cannot sleep if there is a closet door open.

I think I've watched one too many horror movies but i blame my over active imagination.

Trying to say I need make up Jasph? :giggle:

Oh don't tell me your one of those people that has a mirror on the ceiling

No, but I heard hotel room in Las Vegas have it, I'm gonna rent it when I have a girlfriend or wife. It'd be fun to sex with full of mirrors everywhere, even floor. :giggle:

I am with some of you about closet doors needed to be closed for me to be able to sleep in the dark. I never had issues with nightmares about monsters in my closet growing up but as a kid, I always closed my closet door before going to bed and still do now. :)

Well, if your one of those rough guys, be careful not to break any mirrors. Couldn't even tell you how many years of bad luck that is :giggle:
