UGH! Such a fear. I'm so sorry!

We thought we'd lost one, and we contacted the CI company first, bc it was still under 3 year warranty. They would have replaced the whole thing 1X free of charge within that 3 year period. If it was after that time, they would replace it only if we had purchased their extended warranty. If we had it covered it under our homeowners insurance (the same way you'd have your wedding rings, any valuable family jewelry, or high tech equipment covered), which many people do, insurance would be the first contact (although you'd likely have a deductible). Fortunately, it came home (teacher found it on the playground at school). I know several families who've had to replace lost processors.

Yeah. My hubby has not seen his audiologist for about 4. I do not remember how long ago when he received a CI. I believe that was in 2005 or 2006. He lost his processor last weekend. ugh! He couldn't live without it only for his work to communicate with militaries on the base. eh. He found his worn out back up processor that he fixed it somehow. Its working now but it may not stay long. He still needs to get a new processor for the back ups. From what I see that He did contact with audiologist today. He is told that he needed to make appointment with audiologist for april. jeez. He is trying to see if the insurance can cover with him for N5. I will know more what next he will do. again, I will tell him about the insurance that might a good question. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of your hubby's troubles. I hope you don't mind my asking but I'm kind of wondering how did he lose it? Perhaps maybe we could learn something from it?

ha. First of all, my hub has a history tinnitus that causes him aches or dizziness. So again, my hubby is a father of two cutie little monkeys. I was at work at this time while He brought kids to the McDonalds. He was overwhelmed that he and the kids were supposed to meet me at the deaf club meeting after mcdonald. He hurriedly removed the processor and put it in his winter jacket and went in the McDonald. After the deaf club meeting, we all got home. The result was that he couldn't find it from his jacket and it's gone.

so there is nothing you can learn something about it. sorry.

So far, it is still in the air. my hub's will contact with the insurance and CI company. Hopefully that he can get a replacemnt processor through the insurance so he would pay less than paying 8, 000 dollars for a freaking processor.

My god!
