How might I approach a deaf person if...

I know how you feel Jordan, I was like that myself too, as you see I am really shy when it come to being around with new people that I don't know.....Cheri knows me well enough to know that I don't quickly approach people who needs help unless like opening the door or picking up something they dropped or something like that, but not when it comes to seeing others having problems communication with another, that I couldn't get myself to stand up and approach that person or a group of people, I guess part of me was scared that they might look at me and said ' why don't you mind your own business ' or something along the line...so I can truly understand where you are coming from on this, it just like we never know what this person would say in the result of helping them....I also don't see it as being ' rude ' but more of a helping hand to those who needed it....

but then again, it wouldn't hurt to try?...;)

Jordan, if I was you...I would wave to get attention of deaf woman and ask her if she wants warm water, right? Then tell the waitress...this wud be your good opportunity to introduce yourself to her and explain that you just learned sign language and just noticed that she was signing, but you were afraid to approach her because you felt not enough learned signs yet. She probably will say oh that's alright thanks so much for telling waitress for me. For me, being totally honest makes a big difference in communicating with deaf people.
